Garden/os: garden planning, still in the making.

Garden/os assists with garden planning, plant selection and plant diagnosis. It's the eleventh app in Digitalbucht's own portfolio — still being built, and not yet available on the App Store. This page describes only what's already fixed in the app's legal terms; the rest isn't public yet.

What's confirmed so far

Garden/os helps with planning a garden, choosing plants and diagnosing a plant from a photo. Weather data and the garden's location feed into its recommendations. An AI feature answers free-text questions about the garden, drawing on context such as the garden's size, the household and its soil, and species information comes from iNaturalist and Wikipedia, with map data from OpenStreetMap.

Feature details, screens and pricing beyond the general Apple in-app-purchase terms are not yet public — nothing here should be read as a promise about the finished app. Digitalbucht is the sole proprietorship of Emil Deak, based in Wülfrath, Germany.

Data and privacy

Garden/os asks for location (for weather and location-based recommendations) and access to choose a photo (for plant diagnosis). For its AI features, a self-operated Cloudflare Worker relays requests to the OpenAI API — depending on the feature, this can include your free-text question, the address on file in plain text, garden size, household size, whether young children or pets live in the household, soil type, current temperature, established beds and, for diagnosis, the chosen photo. Weather comes from Open-Meteo, species information from iNaturalist and Wikipedia, map data from OpenStreetMap/Overpass. Garden data itself stays on the device. No adverts, no tracking.
